Oskar Huber Furniture & Design is a long standing, family-owned, home-furnishings retail and custom design center that holds a reputation of providing outstanding customer service and quality products.
We are currently seeking a talented and motivated individual to take on the dynamic role of the Assistant Sales and Merchandising Manager for our two beautiful showrooms located in Southampton, PA and Ship Bottom, NJ.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, sales motivation, flexibility, and a passion for style and design.
This position will provide oversight and guidance to our sales team in the absence of the Sales Manager at each location, and will also assist with a variety of merchandising duties to include managing inventory, designing store displays, and maintaining our price lists and merchandise matrix.
The typical weekly work schedule is Monday through Friday; however, this is subject to change as needed, with or without advanced notice.
FLEXIBILITY IS A MUST to ensure store coverage on evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to travel between our two locations as needed.
*Assistant Sales Manager * · Provide support and oversight to the sales team · Perform all tasks necessary to ensure all customers are attended to in an efficient, effective and professional manner so that customers’ needs are met or exceeded · Ensure all customer phone calls are answered in a timely fashion and addressed in the same manner as if they were in the showroom · Maximize store sales · Maintain company expectations for gross margin, protection sales and delivery charges · Assist with raising sales team performance levels · Monitor sales team compliance with Sales Policies and Procedures · Personally cover “over-flow” (more customers than sales staff) on the sales floor when necessary (holidays and when short staffed); turning customers over when sales staff is available to complete the sale · Create SKUs for each item sold, write on the sales ticket, and review each sales order thoroughly for completeness and accuracy (refer to checklist); scan to corporate to enter the sale to ensure all sales are entered before the end of the day · Maintain a cash log and balance (bank deposit & credit card receipt = total) at the beginning of every day; scan the log, credit card settlement total, and bank deposit to corporate every morning · Maintain knowledge of product line features and benefits for merchandise on the sales floor; review new products with Sales Team as they are placed on the floor, providing handouts when possible · Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly according to company procedures · Provide a strong presence on the sales floor to monitor salesperson interaction with prospects, assist with generating greater sales volume, closing sales, and improving the customer experience · Attend training seminars or meetings as scheduled Follow detailed procedures outlined in daily opening/closing guidelines · Create and maintain a pleasant working environment · Act in alignment with the company’s culture, products, image and target market · Other duties as assigned *Assistant Merchandising Manager* · Ensure proper merchandising procedures are followed in all aspects of the merchandising department · Attend market trips and buying meetings several times a year · Create SKUs and purchase orders for new merchandise · Maintain all product information in company data base · Liaise with vendors as necessary · Manage vendor sale periods and cutoffs, and notify managers · Process rebuys and reorders · Create and manage Inner Store Transfers (ISTs) working with the Store Managers and Visual Team · Work together with other team members to discuss design ideas and implement plans · Oversee the showroom Visual Display Associate for time scheduled at each store, communicate merchandising plans and direct to accomplish desired outcomes · Oversee the Accessories Buyer · Coordinate floor work schedules with Operations Manager, Store Manager and Visual Display Associate · Stay current with lifestyle, demographics and design trends · Maintain month end stats including sales by vendor and category · Verification of rebates from Furniture First · Manage clearance inventory with the goal of turning unwanted inventory in the shortest amount of time at the highest margin possible; includes executing the DROP procedures, managing the markdown and tagging process, and maintaining current clearance inventory on the company website · Run exceptions report for product in the warehouse not shown in store · Taking photos of merchandise in store for social media, providing compelling copy for same and coordinating with social media manager · Maintain merchandising matrix for each store · Maintain all e-retail price lists for SLP to use · Manage inventory for staging program including maintain web site updated with current inventory available or marked as out on loan; completing daily upload and working with sales to facilitate the process · Facilitating any online sales including calls or email inquiries on clearance items, to include keying sales for CORP · Act in alignment with the company’s culture, products, image and target market · Other duties as assigned *Education, Experience, and Qualifications:* · Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, spatial design, interior design, retail management, or a related experience · 2 years’ supervisory experience · Must have fashion sense · Flexibility with work schedule · Solid experience in visual merchandising, including window displays, signs, interior displays and space utilization · Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices · Excellent time management and organization skills · Adequate computer skills; ability to learn and work with company computer software · Proficiency in MS Office, with an elevated knowledge of excel · Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills · Creative and innovative thinker · Strong decision making and problem-solving skills · Ability to analyze sales merchandising reports and make effective decisions as a result · Ability to use discretion when discussing company information with a non-employee · Supervisory skills; must be objective and fair; show no favoritism among Sales Team · Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen · Provide and maintain valid driver’s license and auto insurance for company record keeping *Physical Requirements:* · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds · Ability to climb, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, reach, lift, grasp, push and pull on a frequent basis · Ability to stand and/walk for the majority of a scheduled shift (at least 8 hours) · Ability to carry and use catalogs and fabric bundles easily · Ability to visually verify information and locate and inspect merchandise · Ability to travel between store locations Job Type: Full-time Pay: $45,000.
