A Brief Overview
This role provides advanced communications support to CHOP’s Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) and Center for Violence Prevention (CVP), including stakeholder engagement, event planning, managing the development of collateral materials, and developing and executing communications plans.
This position is responsible for drafting and executing strategies to meet the deliverables of the CIRP and CVP research and programmatic portfolio, including coordinating logistics, planning, and execution of in-person and online events, establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, supporting the development of collateral materials, and leading internal communications efforts.
This role requires strong promotional and educational writing for different audiences and strong project organization skills.
This position will coordinate important writing projects, may assist with media relations, and may provide mentorship to other team members and students.
What you will do
Collaborate with faculty, staff and other internal stakeholders on dissemination strategies and tactics around research articles, products, service offerings or policy opportunities, with a view towards broader public influence and/or awareness
Conduct writing projects, such as managing external newsletter, assisting in development of communications and policy tools, and writing/editing blog posts
May assist with media outreach on newsworthy research and initiatives
May plan, execute and promote webinar or speaker series
Maintain/edit website content
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience Qualifications
At least four (4) years related communications experience Required
Previous professional writing experience.
Required
At least six (6) years related communications experience Preferred
healthcare related environment Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Advanced proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office) including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong time management skills

Strong professional writing skills
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
