Which of these text messages do you want to be sending to your flooring contractor and what do you want your floors to look like?
These guys are out there STILL.
They either destroy your floor or do a job that does not last, because they barely use any poly or worse yet, do not know how to sand or use the wrong supplies and skip steps.
This guy got paid because he used just enough poly to make it appear done.
BUT LOOK WHAT HAPPENED IN A VERY SHORT TIME.
How bad a job do you want done? Do you want an uneven finish that is rough? How soon do you want to have to do this again? Do you want to be able to keep up the finish or have to do it all over again?
Do you see the dirt, grime, and dust sticking to this floor that was 'refinished' very recently? The person that owns this house made sure the job would be lousy, by making a common mistake.
He believed everyone does the same thing and anyone could do it, and there is no difference in sand paper or urethane, and all that matters is price.
He did not get an unbelievable price, he got an unbelievably bad job.
It turns my stomach to see what others try and succeed to get paid for.
Don't land yourself in the position to do it again immediately or far too soon.
.
Your drywaller is not capable of doing your floors, the guy who cuts your lawn is not capable of doing your floors, your sister-in-law's ex husband's son looking for work is not capable of doing your floors.
Your babysitter's boyfriend is not capable of doing your floors either and probably came over while you are out and disrespected your home.
You won't have much luck doing it yourself either as the box stores are so busy liberating you of money, that they no longer sell the quality of abrasives capable of stripping your floor, and the urethane they sell will turn brittle and flake away.
If the guy you think is capable of doing your floors says he is going to run to Dome Hepot or Schmoe's to pick up supplies, he does not know where to get professional grade polyurethane or where to buy ceramic abrasives, and he doesn't know how to do your floors either.
Oh, and your buddy who flips houses has a guy, but called me to do his own house, because he wanted something better for himself.
(this happened three
times)
These guys refuse to seal the surface properly, because they only want it to look good enough to get paid, and urethane is expensive and doubled in the last year.
Read between the lines in the third text message.
A regular customer told me it looked good, without visiting the property, because he just knew the job would be great.
I exceeded even his expectations and he tipped me.
A real estate agent says she will never recommend anyone else.
Think about that for a minute, then contact me to do your floors right the first time.
