Job Overview:
The Accounting Manager for Hightop is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of property management and development operations.
This includes maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations, and providing financial insights to support property management and development decisions.
*This is a hybrid position*.
Candidate can work from home half the week and come to the South Philly office half the week.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Property Financial Management:
- Manage the financial operations of all properties, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use.
- Oversee rent collection, lease administration, and tenant financial interactions.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of property income and expenses.
2.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review financial statements for each property, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure that financial reports adhere to industry-specific standards and regulations.
- Present property-specific financial reports to property owners and stakeholders.
3.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with property managers to develop annual property budgets.
- Monitor property budget performance and provide variance analysis.
- Assist in long-term financial forecasting for property portfolios.
4.
CAM (Common Area Maintenance) Reconciliation:
- Calculate, review, and reconcile CAM charges with tenants as per lease agreements.
- Ensure accurate billing and collection of CAM charges.
5.
Financial Compliance:
- Stay informed about real estate industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal real estate and tax laws.
- Assist in property audits and coordinate with auditors as needed.
6.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Manage financial relationships with vendors and contractors.
- Oversee accounts payable processes related to property maintenance and repairs.
7.
Property Acquisition and Disposition:
- Provide financial analysis and due diligence support for property acquisitions and dispositions.
- Assist in evaluating the financial viability of potential real estate investments.
8.
Technology and Software Utilization:
- Evaluate and recommend property management software and systems to streamline financial operations.
- Stay updated on industry-specific financial technology solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred).
- Significant experience in property management accounting or related roles, with at least 5-7 years of experience
- Thorough knowledge of real estate accounting principles and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in Appfolio and Quickbooks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in the context of real estate financial analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple property financial portfolios simultaneously.
- Leadership abilities and the capacity to work effectively with property managers, owners, and tenants.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.
