Weighing in at a very comfy 9lb 4.
2oz is my trusty Moon JJ-4.
She has been all over the place with me and I'm only letting her go for two reasons:
1.
I was in a car accident in January, my car is being fixed and I need to free up some cash.
2.
My new custom JJ-4 is ready several months ahead of schedule and I need to free up some cash!
I purchased this bass in 2021 from Ikebe music in Japan, and I understand it was built in 2020.
The plastic is still on the control plate to this day! This is not a Larry Graham signature model, but you'd be forgiven for thinking so - one unique thing about this bass is the matching back of neck, with the gorgeous Ebony fretboard showing.
So rad!
In its time with me, the bass has enjoyed the following modifications:
- GOLD hardware featuring: a real deal Badass II bridge, 3 Gotoh Res O Lites + a Hipshot BT3 (all long post/reverse wind), and Dunlop Strap Locks.
- A pro stainless steel jumbo refret by Official Fretworks here in Philadelphia.
- An Aguilar OBP-2 Preamp (Volume, Blend, Bass + Treble Boost/Cut)
- Moon MJB Jazz Pickups from the 90s, with the very cool Moon logo on the covers.
This bass snarls, with a really punchy, forward character that the JJ-4 is known for.
It's extremely versatile and sounds like a prime 60s J on steroids.
The Moon pickups sound excellent and it feels great to play, with a really comfortable neck that fills your hand nicely.
This bass definitely has some cosmetic wear, and I did my best to photograph it on the gloss black (not easy!) Includes a nice Bacchus gig bag.
Please do not hesitate to shoot me a message to ask questions or make me an offer.
Thank you so very much!
